Jasmine Mitchell Credits Faith in Jesus for Great British Bake Off Win
By Church News
Jasmine Mitchell, 23, has made history as the youngest contestant to win The Great British Bake Off, and she’s attributing her success to her faith in Jesus.
Jasmine Mitchell, who captured the hearts of viewers with her creativity and calm under pressure said that her spiritual journey was the cornerstone of her resilience throughout the competition. “My faith has become stronger and stronger over the last year,” she said. “Being under the high pressure [of TV] really pushed me to rely on Jesus, on God, because there were a lot of situations where I just felt completely unequipped.”
Mitchell earned the coveted ‘Star Baker’ title five times, matching a record set by series five’s Richard Burr and became the second person ever to achieve that feat.
Despite the spotlight and stress, Mitchell says her Christian faith kept her grounded. “It was in those moments of doubt and exhaustion that I felt God’s presence the most,” she shared. “I prayed before every challenge, not just to win, but to stay joyful and kind.”
