Pastor Mark Perko Spends Night by Pond to Raise Funds
By Marie
Pastor Mark Perko of Temple Baptist Church spent an entire night at a local pond to support his church’s community outreach programs.
Armed with little more than a lawn chair, a sleeping bag, and his Bible, Pastor Mark Perko settled in beside the quiet waters as part of a creative challenge designed to spark donations and raise awareness about the needs of vulnerable families in the area.
“I figured, if Jesus could spend 40 days in the wilderness, I could handle one night by a pond,” Pastor Mark Perko said with a smile. “This is about drawing attention to the mission, not myself.”
The overnight event aimed to raise $10,000 toward youth mentorship, food distribution, and counseling services provided by the church throughout Stark County.
