Award-winning singer, humanitarian, and media personality Nikki Laoye has officially joined the membership of the Recording Academy, the prestigious organization behind the Grammy Awards.

Nikki Laoye, known for her gospel hits and advocacy for persons with disabilities, expressed her gratitude on social media: “I’m honoured to be part of this incredible global community of creatives. This is not just a win for me, it’s a win for every African voice striving to be heard on the world stage.

“As a member, I now have a voice in the GRAMMY Awards process and a platform to advocate for our industry, support my peers, and grow in my own journey.

“And I just got the final email, confirming my membership. Glad to partner with the GRAMMYS.

“For the past 19 years, I have been making God more famous with my music and I have always showcased and advocated for Gospel and Inspirational music creators and artists via my Girls Rock Africa Radio/TV show for over 12 years now.

“Super glad that my work is being noticed once again on another global level and as a UK based Nigerian artist, I get a seat at the table to further help shape the future of music and put Contemporary Gospel Music on the map once again.”

By joining the Recording Academy, Nikki Laoye gains the opportunity to participate in the voting process for the Grammy Awards and contribute to shaping the future of the global music landscape.
