Pastor Greg Laurie Credits Prayer for Strength During Major Health Battle
By Church News
Pastor Greg Laurie, founder of Harvest Christian Fellowship and the Harvest Crusade, has opened up about the role prayer played in helping him through what he calls his “hardest health battle yet.”
Pastor Greg Laurie revealed that he recently underwent hip surgery, his first-ever operation at age 72 and described the experience as both physically challenging and spiritually affirming. “A lot of people talk down on prayer these days,” Laurie said, “but I’ve never been more thankful for it. So many of you were praying for me—and I want you to know those prayers were answered!”
Laurie’s surgery, performed on August 19, was a success. He shared that he is now walking without a cane or walker and is on the path to full recovery. But beyond the physical healing, Laurie emphasized the spiritual encounters he experienced throughout his hospital stay.
From the receptionist to the anesthesiologist, Laurie was surrounded by fellow believers who offered prayers and encouragement. “Even my doctor asked me to pray for him before his surgeries that day,” he noted.
