According to the Diocese of Lagos Central of Methodist Church Nigeria, the country is better off united. This is as long as none of the ethnic groups gives itself exclusive rights to own the country.

Because Nigeria is better off united, the diocese appealed to every elected and appointed leader to manage Nigeria’s diversity. Leaders should do this despite the calls for fiscal federalism and independence.
