Pastor Steve Larson, the pastor of the Community Celebration Church shared a testimony of a missionary during one of his sermons and it is something worth hearing as it reveals the power of prayer.

“One time, a man walked up to a missionary and said, ‘I have something to confess,’” Pastor Steve began to share.

This man admitted that he and his friends followed the missionary into the woods to rob and kill him. But the only thing that stopped them was the company of guards the missionary had at the time.

“The reason we didn’t is because we saw that you were surrounded by 26 armed guards,” the man told the missionary.

The missionary was quite shocked to hear the news. But he was also surprised to know of the 26 guards.

So he replied, “I have no idea what you’re talking about. I was all by myself.”

Then, the missionary returned and shared his experience with the congregation. Suddenly, a man jumped to his feet and told the missionary how the 26 guards appeared.

“I was lead on that day and that time to get together a group of people. And we all prayed for you,” he said.

The man, then, urged those who prayed with him to stand. And one by one, all 26 of them stood.

Pastor Steven concluded his message with an encouraging point from Ian Bounds. He said,  “May you remember the words of Ian Bounds. That prayer is not preparation for the battle. It is the battle.”

Moreover, may this encourage us to believe that we are armed with the most powerful weapon in the world.
