Altar Call at US Megachurch Results in 300 Job
By Church News
New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia, has connected approximately 300 of its unemployed members with job offers following an altar call earlier this month. Pastor Jamal Bryant invited hiring managers and business owners within the congregation to share job opportunities with members in need.
During the September service, Pastor Bryant asked business leaders to step forward and offer their assistance.
This led to a pop-up job fair in the middle of the worship service, where job seekers were matched with potential employers. The event was part of a broader effort to address unemployment in the black community, which Pastor Bryant believes can be disproportionately affected by economic downturns and policy changes.
