Christian Movie Review: Nothing Is Impossible
By Marie
Nothing Is Impossible is an entertaining movie, it is inspirational and encourages us to know that with God all things are possible even when it might not seem like it at the time.
Nothing Is Impossible is also about second chances and being open to God’s purpose for our lives.
The film follows Scott Beck, a 39-year-old school caretaker/janitor who once had plans to be a basketball player. Now he is stuck in his routine, dragging himself through life.
When he finds out that his ex now owns the city basketball team and they are opening try-outs to the public, will he get a second chance at life and love? Can he let go of past pains and open himself to God’s purpose? Or will new challenges keep him from the future he always hoped for?
This movie has a fun, second chance at the life storyline, it is entertaining and has some romance, sport and comedy. It offers something a little different to other second-chance stories, there are twists in the story too.
Is it an impossible story? No, of course not, it only seems impossible from a human point of view, if we submit our plans to God and let Him lead the way as Scott comes to know in this film, nothing is impossible for God, even when we may not feel it or believe it or perhaps even lost sight of it.
As said above there is a great faith message and some scenes of prayer that offer us encouragement to trust God and to persevere even in the most difficult times or when it feels like everything is stacked against us.
“When God is going to do something wonderful, it seems He always starts with a hardship. But when God is going to do something amazing, He starts with the impossible,” one of the characters said.
