Bishop David Oyedepo Survives Assassination Attempt
By Church News
Bishop David Oyedepo has been revealed to have survived a dramatic assassination attempt.
The revelation came during a sermon by Bishop David Oyedepo’s daughter, Love Ogah, who shared the harrowing account of an incident from her childhood that has since been regarded as a testament to the power of faith. According to Mrs. Ogah, a group of hired assassins once stormed their family home with the explicit purpose of ending Bishop Oyedepo’s life.
She said: “One particular night, we were visited in our house by hired killers, and they specifically stated right from when they entered the gate that they ‘are here to execute him’—by him, my father.
“They were like, ‘Where’s he? Where’s he?’ But he was looking at them the entire time, and they couldn’t see him.
“The most interesting thing that has stuck with me from when I was a child is that he was looking at them the entire time, but they couldn’t see him. They ransacked our house for hours,” she narrated.
The intruders, armed and resolute, searched every corner of the house in pursuit of their target. However, despite their meticulous efforts, they failed to find the man they were sent to assassinate. Mrs. Ogah recounted that her father was physically present in the house during the attack and witnessed the intruders as they carried out their search. Yet, in what she described as a supernatural occurrence, the assassins were unable to perceive him, almost as if he had become invisible to their eyes.
“The assailants were blinded by divine intervention,” Mrs. Ogah explained, highlighting how the incident left the entire family stunned. After an exhaustive search, the attackers eventually left, unable to carry out their sinister mission. Bishop David Oyedepo emerged from the ordeal unharmed, further solidifying his reputation as a man shielded by the hand of God.
Mrs. Ogah used the account as a moment of reflection, urging believers to cultivate their faith and deepen their relationship with God. She emphasised that divine protection is real and can manifest in ways that defy human understanding, especially in times of peril.
