Why You Should Consider Spirituality The bedrock of Human Existence?

By Esther

Man did not just exist on earth. There’s something quite unique about man. The reason why we should consider Spirituality as the bedrock of human existence. Why you should consider Spirituality as the bedrock of human existence?Spirituality is the bedrock of human existence because arguably, man is first and foremost a SPIRIT. He has a SOUL and he lives in a BODY. This spirit that is in man is the candlelight of God and it connects us to our Maker…to God who made us.This is indisputable that there’s no us without God because our lives spring up from God. This is well substantiated In the Book of Beginning called ‘GENESIS’“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul.” Gen. 2:7God’s breath called ZOE gives us life and made every man on earth to be complete in body and spirit. Our completion comes from God. HE IS OUR SOURCE. WE’RE NOTHING WITHOUT HIM. Whenever we wake up in the morning, we need to show gratitude to God because we’re living. The Bible says “Let the Living Praise the Lord…”THE ESSENCE OF SPIRITUALITYSpirituality is generally seen as an individual’s search for ultimate or sacred meaning, and purpose in life. Additionally, it can mean to seek out or search for personal growth, religious experience, belief in a supernatural realm or afterlife, or to make sense of one’s own “inner dimension”.Spirituality involves the recognition of a feeling or sense or belief that there is something greater than myself, something more to being human than sensory experience and that the greater whole of which we are part is cosmic or divine in nature.Spirituality is essential to a person’s being, it makes us connect and relate well with God, Our CREATOR.Spirituality is a broad concept with room for many perspectives. In general, it includes a sense of connection to something bigger than ourselves, and it typically involves a search for meaning in life. As such, it is a universal human experience—something that touches us all. People may describe a spiritual experience as sacred or transcendent or simply a deep sense of aliveness and interconnectedness. Some may find that their spiritual life is intricately linked to their association with a church, temple, mosque, or synagogue. Others may pray or find comfort in a personal relationship with God or a higher power. Still others seek meaning through their connections to nature or art. Like your sense of purpose, your personal definition of spirituality may change throughout your life, adapting to your own experiences and relationships.3 Elements of Spirituality are:
  1. Relationships
  2. Values, and
  3. Life purpose.
Positive impacts of spirituality
