Victoria Orenze Warns Against Abbreviating Jesus’ Name in Prayer

By Marie

Renowned gospel singer and preacher Victoria Orenze has warned against abbreviating Jesus’ name in prayer: “You can’t abbreviate the name of Jesus and expect to receive answers.”

Her statement, delivered in a recent Instagram reel, challenges a growing trend among believers who shorten “In Jesus’ Name” to “IJN” in prayers.

Orenze expressed concern that such abbreviations may dilute the spiritual power and reverence associated with the name of Jesus Christ. “So we abbreviate… we abbreviate the name of Jesus. IJN. Then you will say your prayer is not answered,” she said, urging Christians to reconsider the depth and sincerity of their devotional language.
