Vatican Sends Mobile Clinic to Aid Gaza’s Children

By Church News

Pope Francis’ iconic popemobile has been repurposed into a mobile medical clinic to serve children in war-torn Gaza.

The initiative, announced by Vatican officials this week, aims to deliver urgent healthcare to communities devastated by months of conflict.

The popemobile, traditionally used to transport the pontiff during public appearances, has been refitted with medical equipment, supplies, and space for doctors to treat young patients.

Vatican engineers worked with humanitarian partners to adapt the vehicle, ensuring it could navigate Gaza’s damaged streets while providing essential services.

The clinic-on-wheels will focus on pediatric care, vaccinations, and trauma support, addressing the dire needs of children caught in the crisis.
