Tope Alabi, a renowned gospel singer, has achieved a remarkable feat by joining the BoomPlay Golden Club. This means she has exceeded 100M streams on the popular music streaming platform.The singer expressed her gratitude to God for this accomplishment and praised Boomplay Music for their invaluable support to the Nigerian music industry. She shared this news on her social media and said; “Jesus is to be glorified. I’m just privileged to be a minister in his kingdom. @boomplaynigeria, you’ve added so much to the music industry in Nigeria. Thanks for being a part of the journey.”
 
Born on October 27, 1970, in Lagos State, Tope Alabi is the only girl among three siblings. Her parents are Pa Joseph Akinyele Obayomi and Madam Agnes Kehinde Obayomi. She is from Yewa, Imeko in Ogun State, Nigeria. She married Soji Alabi. She finished her secondary education at Oba Akinyele Memorial High School, Ibadan in 1986 and obtained a diploma in Mass Communication from the Polytechnic Ibadan in 1990.Alabi started her career as a member of the Jesters International comedy group. She then joined various travelling and stage theatre groups in Ibadan and Lagos. She also acted in some Yoruba movies. Alabi became a gospel singer after she gave her life to Christ.On May 21, 2019, she was crowned the queen of the Yoruba language by Nigerians on Twitter as part of the 70th-anniversary celebration of the United Bank for Africa.Tope Alabi obtained a Higher National Diploma in Mass Communication from the Polytechnic of Ibadan, after graduating in the year 1990, she worked as a correspondent at NTA (Nigerian Television Authority) in Ibadan. She started singing at a younger age when she joined the choir at her local Catholic church at the age of seven.Tope can produce different traditional and modern beats.
