Tiny Church Opens in Copenhagen’s Nordhavn District
By Church News
This week, a small, 12-sided wooden chapel known as Copenhagen’s first “tiny church” opened its doors.
The 76-square-meter church, built from recycled wood and insulated with newspaper, is part of the Hans Egedes Parish and seats around 40 to 50 people. With its clean lines and simple white interior, the structure blends sustainability with spiritual reflection.
Project manager Johanne Dal-Lewkovitch explained the concept: “We used to build the church first, and the town would follow. But today, cities grow quickly, and we need to find space for faith within that.”
