A deputy sheriff who worked and prayed during the Asbury Revival reveals what he witnessed during those weeks.

Deputy sheriff Marty Elliot of Danville, Kentucky worked undercover and in uniform during the 16 days of Asbury Revival.

An estimated 100,000 people came to Asbury University in Wilmore to experience the outpouring of the Holy Spirit that was happening. While he was regulating the crowd in the small Christian campus, he was also praying with them.

“I’m policing here, but I am praying for people too,” he said. “I am praying for the power of God to come the way I have seen Him come.”

In an interview with Charisma News, Marty revealed what he witnessed during that time. He explained that although he had attended other revival events in the past, he has not seen anything like what he saw at the Asbury Revival.

“This is beyond what any of us have seen since the healing revivals. Unprecedented miracles are taking place,” Marty said.

On the evening of February 19, University leaders announced that public access would be significantly reduced and would end on February 23. A good balance of crowd control and ministry was needed at that time as Wilmore became overwhelmed by the number of people coming into the small town.

As Marty moved the revival seekers to the gates of Asbury University, he shared a powerful message with them to bring them comfort and reassurance that God is doing something great.

“The school administration is not trying to squash the revival, they are trying to father it and steward what God has given. You’re not here by accident, you didn’t miss it, you’re here because God sparked it in you to come,” he explained. “God is a good, good Father and He loves you.”

Marty also urged everyone to bring revival back to their own homes, churches, and cities.
