Clergymen of the different Pentecostal Churches from across the 36 states of the federation, high-profile Christian leaders, the political elite, general overseers and church founders in the country, recently converged in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State for the 17th Biennial Conference of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).The Biennial Conference is the highest gathering of all Pentecostal believers in one place with the Fathers and Mothers of Faith all in attendance.Hosting the Spiritual fiesta for the first time, the National President, PFN, Bishop Dr Francis Wale Oke dispatched a 4 member national delegate to visit the State for an on-the-spot assessment of the preparations. With the theme, “More Than Conquerors,” the event had the 10,000 sitting capacity of the Ecumenical Centre, Igbogene fully occupied. The National President of PFN, Bishop Francis Wale in his address urged the delegates to tap from the fountain of knowledge of the spiritual fathers while assuring them of a great turnaround at the end of the four-day programme.Oke noted that participants would receive unprecedented blessings as a result of the gatherings of the spiritual fathers, and charged them to look up to God who will meet them at their point of needs. In his remark before the event, Bishop Cosmos Elechukwu, National Secretary of PFN, disclosed that the Biennial conference tradition entails partnership among the National and hosting zone/state all buying into the programme, which he added, has always brought about great spiritual and physical revival to the people.Gov. Diri, the governor of Bayelsa urged Christians to pray for Bayelsa and the country stating that the Government will continue to support the church.“Let me use this opportunity again to call on Christians who believe that politics is dirty and it is not good for clean people, I invite you to join us to wash the dirty clothes of politics and make it clean. When all of you not only come to vote but participate in the political process, you will wash the politics of Nigeria clean.“I request and urge you to be in prayers for our dear country. These are very critical and tough times for our country. Our country is pregnant, let us all work as the midwives of this pregnancy and bring forth a baby that will be Jesus Christ. My dear leaders, we will continue to support the church and as you continue to pray for the peace and the safety of this State and this country, God will reward you and I believe that Bayelsa will be more peaceful after this Biennial Conference,” Governor Diri stated.ALSO READ Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria Lauds Pastor Adeboye
