Tamela Mann and For KING & COUNTRY have both won favourite gospel artist and favourite inspirational artist respectively at the just concluded 2022 American Music Awards (AMAs) aired live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, Nov. 20.The AMAs represent the year’s top achievements in music determined by the fans, for the fans.Nominees are based on key fan interactions as reflected on the Billboard charts including streaming, album and song sales, radio airplay, and tour grosses.Tamela Jean Mann is an American gospel singer, songwriter, and actress.Mann began her career as a singer with the gospel group Kirk Franklin and the Family. She was a featured soloist on several tracks while with Franklin’s group, including “Now Behold the Lamb”, and “Lean on Me”, the latter of which also included Mary J. Blige, Crystal Lewis, R. Kelly, and Bono. She began her solo career by releasing the albums Gotta Keep Movin and The Master Plan.Her third studio album, Best Days reached No. 1 on the Billboard Gospel albums chart and was certified Gold by the RIAA. The lead single “Take Me to the King” was a commercial success, and earned her a nomination for the Grammy Award for Best Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music Performance.For King & Country, stylised as for KING & COUNTRY and formerly known as Joel & Luke as well as Austoville is a Christian pop duo composed of Australian brothers Joel and Luke Smallbone. The brothers were born in Australia and immigrated to the United States as children, settling in the Nashville area.After releasing a short EP as Joel and Luke, in 2012 they released their debut record Crave. The band was declared by Billboard as one of the “New Artists to Watch” for 2012.In 2014, they released their second studio album, Run Wild. Live Free.
