StepFWD Awards Returns in November for its 3rd Edition
By Marie
The third Annual StepFWD Awards, UK’s definitive Christian & Gospel Music Awards is taking place on Saturday 11th November, at South London’s largest arts centre, Fairfield Halls, Croydon.
Returning for the third annual StepFWD Awards are also our delightful hosts, the endlessly entertaining Faith Child with the beautiful Jennifer Lee Moon. StepFWD Awards 2022 featured performances by Guvna B, Elle Limebear, Limoblaze, Jake Isaac, Nathan Jess, Fabio D’Andrea, Rachel Kerr, The Spirituals, Tab Worship, LaToyah Bless and DJ Shunz to mention a few.
StepFWD Awards is inspired by Romans 12:10: “Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honour.” The main focus is just that – showing honour to those blessing us with their musical giftings – without leaving anyone out.
Expect to see new and current artists celebrated alongside those who have contributed for decades oftentimes never receiving the recognition deserved. Their combined efforts have created the diverse and lively faith-inspired music scene we have in the UK today – Song of The Year nominees alone span twelve categories across numerous genres!
The StepFWD Awards will be as much about honouring UK history and legacy across the past 40 years as it will be about recognising the talent of the last 12 months. Another significant aspect of the Step FWD Awards is that it will follow in the unique and dedicated work of the UK Christian Charts, in bringing together genres, styles, and nations.
StepFWD has had the privilege of running the UK Christian Charts for over 8 years now and since August 2020, operating with a 12-category chart system spanning the likes of Contemporary Worship and Gospel to genres such as Reggae, Pop, Rap, Afrobeat to Indie / Folk / Acoustic. 4,400+ tracks have been processed to date from over 600 hundred new and established artists. The UKCC is a public voting system running in tandem with a judging panel comprising over 150 top influencers and platforms in the UK Christian music industry.
Following in from a hugely successful debut initiative last year, this awards event is set to celebrate and honour many incredibly talented individuals, all working for God’s glory to bring the gospel message to people through the use of their various skills and art forms.
The StepFWD Awards also plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between creatives and music lovers; young and old, black and white, Gospel and CCM and everything in between.
