The vibrant youth community at Starhub, the youth church of Day Star Christian Centre led by Pastor Sam Adeyemi, is gearing up to host a two-day festival that celebrates individuality and authentic living. Unbound Fest, aptly themed “More Colour,” is set to infuse colours and life into the hearts and minds of young individuals from September 8th to 9th, 2023.
Starhub, known for its open-armed approach, caters to youth aged 16 to 23, providing a welcoming space for them to embrace their unique identities. The festival promises an engaging lineup, with the first day being a panel session on Friday, September 8th, starting at 5 PM.
With the theme “Authentically You,” the panel session aims to delve into the essence of individuality, exploring what it truly means to be oneself in a world filled with societal expectations. Starhub has gathered an exceptional trio of panelists, including Chuka Xavier Obi, Tunde Onakoya, and Mazino Malaka, each bringing their unique perspectives to the table.
Chuka Xavier Obi, Tunde Onakoya, and Mazino Malaka are set to lead the conversation, sharing insights, experiences, and wisdom that will empower young minds to embrace their true selves with confidence. Tunde Onakoya, one of the panelists, is a national chess coach and master from Nigeria. He is Chess in Slums Africa’s organiser. Chess in Slums Africa was established by him in 2017. Chess is used by this nonprofit organisation as a tool for social intervention. It serves as a link between underprivileged children and their aspirations and a framework for providing free education, learning materials, and mentoring opportunities for youngsters in underprivileged communities.
The venue for this enlightening panel session is The Starhub 2, located at Ziatech Road, Oregun, Ikeja. The session promises to be an insightful talk show where attendees can engage with the panelists, ask questions, and gain valuable insights into living authentically in a world that often demands conformity.
Starhub took to social media to share the news, posting about the event on Twitter and inviting all interested individuals to join them for this exceptional festival of colours and life: “Join us for Unbound Fest Day 1 on Friday, September 8th, at 5pm! Get ready for an insightful talk show with our amazing panelists – Chuka Obi, Tunde Onakoya, and Mazino Malaka – as they dive into the topic “Authentically You.”‘
For the youth of Lagos and beyond, Unbound Fest is poised to be an inspiring programme that is geared towards self-discovery and embracing the different colours of life.
