Nigerian televangelist and founder of Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, has sparked widespread conversation among Christians by describing Santa Claus as “corrupted” and urging churches to ban the figure from their Christmas festivities.

In a sermon delivered during the Christmas season, Pastor Chris emphasized that the popular festive character distracts believers from the true essence of Christmas, the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.

He warned that churches promoting Santa Claus risk misguiding worshippers, especially children, by shifting focus from biblical teachings to cultural traditions.

“Santa Claus has been corrupted. He has no place in the house of God. Christmas is about Christ, not about a man in a red suit,” Pastor Chris reportedly said
