Samaritan’s Purse Provides Critical Aid and Support
By Church News
Samaritan’s Purse is providing critical aid and support to communities in crisis particularly in America and the Caribbean.
The organization was founded in 1970 by Bob Pierce and is currently led by Franklin Graham. They intend to help those affected by crises such as natural disasters, war, disease, and poverty.
Minnesota has been overwhelmed by severe flooding in the past week. This has caused widespread destruction and left behind a trail of debris. In response, Samaritan’s Purse has mobilized its Disaster Response Unit to assist the hard-hit areas. Their focus is on Le Sueur County.
Simultaneously, Samaritan’s Purse is responding to the devastation caused by Hurricane Beryl in the Caribbean. This morning, a second airlift was dispatched, carrying an Emergency Field Hospital and 29 additional Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) members. The team provide medical care and support to those affected by the hurricane in the Carribbean.
As these efforts unfold, Samaritan’s Purse is calling on the community to join in prayer for those affected by these disasters. Prayers are requested for the safety and effectiveness of the response teams, as well as for the healing and recovery of the impacted communities.
