Samaritan’s Purse Calls For Volunteers

By Church News

Samaritan’s Purse, a renowned Christian NGO, is mobilising a volunteer effort to relieve those in need.

Samaritan’s Purse has a long history of responding to crises around the globe. Now, with the storm hitting “our own backyard” in western North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida, their mission hits even closer to home. The organisation urgently seeks volunteers dedicated to helping families get back on their feet.

The needs are vast. Homes are flooded and destroyed, leaving families with nowhere to go. Trees litter the landscape, hindering access and adding to the chaos. Power outages threaten the well-being of those who rely on medical equipment.

To address these issues, Samaritan’s Purse is seeking volunteers to assist with various tasks: Removing the mud and debris that has infiltrated flooded houses is a crucial first step in the recovery process.

Clearing fallen trees allows for safe passage and facilitates rebuilding efforts and providing temporary protection from the elements is vital to prevent further damage to homes.

Beyond physical assistance, Samaritan’s Purse is also setting up a field hospital unit to help those with respiratory issues who rely on electric oxygen machines.
