Rt Rev Nicholas Hudson Installed as New Bishop of Plymouth

Rt Rev Nicholas Hudson has been formally installed as the new Bishop of Plymouth.
The Installation Mass was celebrated at the Cathedral Church of St Mary and St Boniface in Plymouth on Saturday, November 29, 2025.
The service was attended by senior Catholic clergy, including: Archbishop Miguel Maury Buendía, Apostolic Nuncio to Great Britain; Cardinal Vincent Nichols, Archbishop of Westminster; Most Rev John Wilson, Metropolitan Archbishop of Southwark; Bishops and archbishops from across England and Wales.
Ordained in 1986 for the Archdiocese of Southwark, Rt Rev Nicholas Hudson has served the Church for nearly four decades.
Since 2014, he has been Auxiliary Bishop of Westminster and Titular Bishop of St Germans in Cornwall and his appointment was confirmed by Pope Leo XIV.
