By Church News
Kay Arthur, a revered Bible teacher, prolific author, and co-founder of Precept Ministries International, passed away at the age of 91.
Kay Arthur’s dedication to Scripture transformed the lives of countless individuals through her inductive Bible study method, which she shared in more than 100 books and Bible studies. Her television program, Precepts for Life, was broadcast to millions, earning recognition as the Best Television Teaching Program twice.
Born in Jackson, Michigan, on November 11, 1933, Arthur’s early career as a nurse took a dramatic turn when she experienced a spiritual awakening at 29. She later attended Tennessee Temple University, where she met her husband, Jack Arthur. Their shared passion for biblical teaching led them to serve as missionaries in Mexico before founding Precept Ministries, now a global organisation operating in over 110 languages.
Arthur’s contributions were widely celebrated, earning her numerous awards, including a place in the National Religious Broadcasters Hall of Fame. Diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2020, she continued ministering until her final days.
Her family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Kay Arthur Memorial Fund, ensuring her mission lives on.
