A reality gospel show, Gospel Icon Africa (GIA), is set to debut in Nigeria this August.

This was made known at a press conference to usher in the commencement of the show which is aimed at changing the narratives of Gospel music in Africa and giving up-and-coming Gospel artists a platform to show their talent.

Gospel Icon Africa is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at revolutionizing the Gospel music landscape in Africa while providing up-and-coming Gospel artists with an exceptional platform to showcase their divine talent.

The press conference where this exciting news was announced, highlighted the visionary aspirations of GIA.

Mrs Esther Oladeji, the Managing Director of GIA, spoke passionately about the show’s purpose, emphasizing its dedication to fostering a deeper connection between true worshippers and God while making a positive impact on humanity through soul-stirring music.

“First, it is to please God, and because we desire to do his will, He has led us through the pattern and structure he wants us to follow. Second, it is to change the narratives of Gospel music in Africa, by modelling God’s template of true Gospel music. Also, to give upcoming Gospel artists a platform to show forth their light.”

The show will be in phases, starting with registration and then auditions. The successful contestants will be invited to the live show.

The jewel in the crown of GIA is the grand prize awarded to the winner, an unparalleled package that includes N10 million, a car, a spiritually enriching trip to Israel, and a two-year record deal.

Additionally, other contestants will be rewarded with enticing incentives such as cash prizes and iPhones, creating a dynamic and rewarding experience for all participants.
