Piesie Esther Wins ‘Gospel Artist of the Year’ Awards

Ghanaian gospel songstress Piese Esther was named “Gospel Artist of the Year” at the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA),  held recently in Ghana.

The annual music award ceremony highly regarded in the country for recognizing exceptional artistic feats, was held at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre on May 6, 2023.

Piesse Esther won “Gospel Artist of the Year” after taking home two awards including “Gospel Song of the Year” for her hit single “Waye Me Yie” translated as (He Has Been Good To Me).

The powerful vocalist and songwriter had received seven (7) major nominations in major categories including Artiste of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year.

Sharing her delight on Instagram, Piese Esther dedicated her awards to God, her dear husband, the Church of Pentecost, the Ghanaian Christian community, and everyone who has been part of her growth that began 20 years ago.

She penned; “Waye me yie ampa! I dedicate these awards firstly to God, my dear husband (God of Enoch ), my family, The Church Of Pentecost, @thecophqofficial the entire Christian Community in Ghana, my team at Gospel 360 Africa, The table of Men, the Media, Bloggers and to everyone who has been a part of the growth of my ministry. God Bless You All”

The VGMA nomination process includes a blank list of categories along with definitions sent out to industry practitioners in all regions of Ghana by the GMA Board; radio station regional offices, major distributors of music, etc, for nominations in the various categories.
