Pastor Taiwo Odukoya was the beloved spiritual leader of Fountain of Life Church and in a moving tribute, a three-day memorial programme was held in Lagos, Nigeria, to honour his life and legacy and to recognise his profound influence on his congregation and the larger community.The schedule, which included a Funeral Service, Thanksgiving Service, and Service of Songs, offered a stage for moving memorials, uplifting worship, and motivational speeches. The services were streamed live on the Church’s YouTube channel.On September 8th, as the Service of Songs began, the church grounds echoed with hymn singing and adoration. The ceremony, which lasted for more than four hours, gave congregation members and well-wishers a chance to honour the distinguished man of God.A renowned church member named Pastor Ibukun Awosika gave a touching eulogy, and soul-stirring music by a performed Peterson Okopi, who sang his famous song, “Osuba” and Victor Thompson songs also filled the air, creating a solemn and worship atmosphere.The Funeral Service, held on the 9th of September, brought together esteemed clergy members and close associates who shared Pastor Odukoya’s journey, both as a spiritual leader and a cherished individual. Notable presence and speakers included Bishop Mike Okonkwo, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, Pastor Sola Osinbajo, and Rev. Pastor Mrs Yomi Oyinloye, Assistant General Overseer of First Square Church amongst others.Pastor David Olatunji Abioye delivered a powerful sermon based on Psalms 90:12, emphasizing the importance of cherishing each moment and making a difference in the world. A poignant moment was captured through a short clip of Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, where he passionately emphasised the significance of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers and the Church.The final day of the memorial program, the 10th of September, was dedicated to a Thanksgiving Service. Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo delivered a stirring sermon titled “Encourage Yourself,” drawing inspiration from 1 Samuel 30:1-6. The congregation engaged in a rousing praise session, led by Tolu, one of Pastor Adeyemi’s daughters, who emphasized that the gathering was a celebration rather than a time of mourning.
