Obiora Obiwon has released a unique live-recorded, multi-feature remix song titled “Onye Nmeri (Conqueror Chant)”.

It features the exotic vocal styles of Angella and Favour Chukwuma, as well as lyricism from double language rapper Nolly.

Obiora Obiwon explained on his Instagram page the inspiration and production process of the song. He said, “I got in the studio with some music friends for a live remix version of my last single ‘Conqueror’. (Then) Spontaneously by the Spirit, we couldn’t stop chanting the phrase ‘Onye Nmeri’.”

The result is this praise warfare sound and my first single of 2024. “Onye Nmeri” literally translates to ‘victorious one’ or ‘person of victory’, a popular Igbo praise expression for Christ as Conqueror and Champion of the Universe.
