Notre Dame Cathedral Celebrates Ordination of 16 New Priests

By Church News

The Notre Dame Cathedral has recently ordained sixteen priests, surrounded by centuries of faith, family, clergy, and close companions.

The ordination Mass, led by Cardinal Michel Aupetit, Archbishop Emeritus of Paris, addressed the newly ordained Priests with words of encouragement and conviction: “In this sacred place, reborn from ashes and sustained by faith, your ministry begins. Let your service be a light to others, just as this cathedral continues to shine through its resurrection.”

Among the newly ordained Priests are:

  •  Fr. Étienne Laurent, Paris
  •  Fr. Jean-Marc Kouadio, Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire
  • Fr. Lucas Moreau, Lyon
  • Fr. Miguel Sánchez, Seville, Spain
  • Fr. Thomas Nguyen, Marseille
  • Fr. Paulin Tamba, Douala, Cameroon

The Mass featured centuries-old rituals including the laying on of hands, the prayer of consecration, and the investiture with priestly garments.
