Nicaragua Bars Tourists from Bringing Bibles Across Borders

By Church News

Nicaragua has introduced a controversial new restriction, barring tourists from bringing Bibles and other printed materials into the country.

Authorities in Nicaragua have officially prohibited tourists from carrying Bibles, newspapers, magazines, and books of any kind across its borders.

The restriction, confirmed by international transport companies operating in Central America, has been widely condemned as part of a broader crackdown on religious freedom.

Notices posted at Tica Bus terminals in Costa Rica, which serve routes into Managua, list Bibles alongside prohibited items such as sharp objects, perishable food, drones, and cameras
