Naomi Raine has won GRAMMY, BET, NAACP, Billboard, Dove Awards and more, and she was called “the next generation of gospel” by 19x GRAMMY-winner Kirk Franklin. She recently released her debut live album ‘Cover The Earth’ (6.2), and on Sunday (6.25), she’ll head to Los Angeles to wrap up the first-of-its-kind, all-female It’s Time Tour with Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Tamela Mann, Natalie Grant and Katie Torwalt.Naomi Raine is a worship pastor, songwriter, and Grammy-winning Christian artist who performs a mix of gospel and contemporary worship music.She was born “Naomi Raine Solomon” on April 9, 1987, in New York, NY. In 2019, she joined Maverick City Music, a worship music group that aimed to increase diversity within the field of CCM.With the group, she realized Maverick City, Vol. 1 that same year, reaching Number 10 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart. Maverick City, Vol. 2 arrived later that year and hit Number 35 on the Top Christian Albums chart.The group’s full-length debut album, Maverick City Vol. 3 Part 1, followed in 2020 and featured Raine’s vocals on the single “Promises,” which reached Number 1 on both the Hot Christian Songs and Hot Gospel Songs charts.“Promises” was nominated for “Gospel Worship Recorded Song of the Year” and “Song of the Year” at the GMA Dove Awards. In 2021, Maverick City Music released Old Church Basement, a collaborative album that hit Number 1 on Bllboard’s Christian Albums and Top Gospel Albums charts.Raine appeared on the song “Jireh,” which rose to Number 1 on the Hot Gospel Songs chart and received nominations at multiple awards shows, including “Worship Recorded Song of the Year” at the GMA Dove Awards, “Top Gospel Song” at the Billboard Music Awards, and “Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song” at the Grammy Awards. Old Church Basement won a Grammy Award for “Best Contemporary Christian Music Album” in 2022, and Raine released her first solo album, Journey, that same year.She continued appearing on Maverick City Music’s most popular songs, too, and earned four Grammy Awards with the group in 2023, including “Best Gospel Performance/Song” for the Kirk Franklin duet “Kingdom,” “Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song” for the Kirk Franklin duet “Fear is Not my Future,” and “Best Contemporary Christian Music Album” for the EP Breathe.ALSO READ: Making Spiritual Investment – Apostle Joshua Selman
