Mike Bamiloye Reflects on His Journey from Secular Writing to Gospel Drama

By Church News

Christian filmmaker and founder of Mount Zion Faith Ministries, Pastor Mike Bamiloye, recently shared a profound reflection on his transformation from secular writing to gospel drama. In a post on his Facebook page, Bamiloye recounted the struggles and triumphs that marked his journey to becoming a pioneer in Christian drama.

Bamiloye revealed that his early years were marked by an addiction to secular writing. Despite being an accomplished writer of drama scripts and novels, his works lacked spiritual significance. The turning point came in 1982, when a 22-year-old Bamiloye attended a church convention and was deeply moved by the powerful ministration of a renowned gospel singer. Overwhelmed by the anointing, he cried out to God, asking to be used for His Kingdom.

During this emotional plea, Bamiloye heard a voice within him, urging him to surrender his writing gift for Kingdom purposes. Despite initial resistance and relapses into his old habits, he eventually heeded the divine call. A sobering dream further reinforced the urgency of his decision, warning him that his secular works could undermine his ministry if not withdrawn from publishers.

Bamiloye’s obedience and dedication to his calling have since yielded an abundant harvest. Mount Zion Faith Ministries has produced countless gospel films and stage productions that have impacted lives across Nigeria and beyond. Reflecting on his journey, Bamiloye expressed gratitude for the transformative power of surrendering one’s talents to God and embracing the call to Kingdom service.
