Mary’s Meals, a Scottish charity dedicated to providing meals to schoolchildren in poverty-stricken areas reaches over 3 million children daily. This accomplishment is the charity’s efforts, growing from 2.2 million children at the start of 2024 to the current milestone.
The charity’s program provides a simple yet effective solution: a daily meal in school that encourages children to attend and learn. By serving locally sourced food, Mary’s Meals not only alleviates hunger but also supports local communities.
Mary’s Meals operates in 16 countries, including Malawi, Haiti, South Sudan, and Syria. The charity has made significant strides in reaching the most vulnerable children, with notable expansions in Malawi, serving over 1.3 million children, a testament to the charity’s long-term commitment.
In Zambia, reaching over 600,000 children, demonstrating the program’s scalability and Ethiopia’s Tigray Region with a 700% increase in meals served, providing crucial support to children affected by conflict.
