Here are some lessons to benefit from the film

Even though the migrant crisis affected the whole of Europe, the majority of the migrants arrived first in Greece. This was due to the proximity of Greece to Turkey, Africa as well as the Middle East.

A particular Greek island known as Samos is known to be 40miles from Turkey. Greece possesses ten thousand miles of coastline, majority being in Europe.

With regards to the migrants’ port of call Carlson says: “Sweden, Germany, Finland or a host of other Western European countries that they have never visited but believe hold their key to a better life.”

In 2015, 1,005,504 fleeing migrants came to Europe. They were escaping from oppression slavery and poverty from countries like Iraq Syria and Afghanistan.

However, a lot of them also discovered the gospel. As a result, religious revival and transformation erupted particularly among the Muslims fleeing their war-ravaged Nations. “Most of the new churches are evangelical and charismatic.” he explained

In addition, it exhibits the way believers in Athens consistently reached out to the people of Islamic religion. A church planter narrated in the film how he baptized migrants in their hundreds. Similarly, another pastor explained how he had 150 to 200 slaves in attendance during his evangelistic meeting which he hosted. He believed it wasn’t a “coincidence” and says These were things that were unheard in the past.”

“I believe in the sovereignty of God. And I do believe that this is God’s doing.” he added. There was even a particular church building that has suite of rooms for Muslims and their families. Carlson analysed “In my experience, it is the love of God and the love of Christians that draw Muslims to Jesus Christ
