Lecrae Celebrates Daughter’s Baptism with Joy and Gratitude

By Church News

Grammy Award-winning rap artist Lecrae recently shared a heartwarming moment with his fans as he celebrated the baptism of his daughter, Maya Moore. The joyous event occurred at their local church, and Lecrae couldn’t contain his emotions as he witnessed his daughter’s public declaration of faith.

In an Instagram post, Lecrae expressed his overwhelming gratitude and joy: “Today, my daughter publicly declared her decision to follow Christ, and it’s just now hitting me. I’m overwhelmed with emotion, (Dad is crying) reflecting on God’s goodness and faithfulness. As parents, we long for our children’s physical well-being, but more than that, I’ve prayed for their hearts to know and love God”.

Lecrae, who is married to Darragh Moore and has three children, shared that he has always prayed for his children’s spiritual growth. He emphasized the importance of guiding them towards faith while allowing them the space to make their own decisions. “I’d sit at breakfast reading the Bible, sharing the gospel, and pointing her to Him, knowing I can’t change my baby girl’s heart—only God can. All I could do was serve, pray, and trust in His timing. And He’s faithful!!! I’m beyond grateful because my Heavenly Father is far greater than I could ever be”.

The baptism of Maya Moore is a significant milestone for the family, and Lecrae’s heartfelt words have resonated with many of his followers. The artist’s journey of faith and dedication to his family continues to inspire and uplift those who follow his music and ministry.

Lecrae’s latest single, “King David,” featuring Trip Lee, Jackie Hill Perry, and Alexxander, was released on January 16, 2025, and he has been actively engaging with his audience through his podcast, “The Deep End with Lecrae“.
