LeAnn Rimes Shares Faith Focus Behind Her New Album

By Church News

The Award-winning contemporary Christian, singer LeAnn Rimes,  is describing her latest album ‘God’s work’ as a journey to reconnecting her faith with God.Speaking to Forbes in an interview, Rimes said, “I kind of ran away from God for a long time.”Rimes said she struggled to understand how allowing God to work through people makes for a better world. In the interview, she said, “I was raised Southern Baptist, and my frustration was we’re brought up with these messages of love, acceptance, community and forgiveness, but no one’s living them to the fullest.”She says she hopes her new music will help bring people together by offering “hope and healing.”“God can mean different things to different people. To me, it inserts the word ‘love,’ the word’ ‘creation’.Commenting on the performances she said, “When we played ‘God’s work’, it’s like we turned the whole audience into a choir, and by the end, they were all singing ‘We are God’s work’ then applauding afterward. I think it’s empowering.”Also, Rimes in an interview with Fox News a while back said, “I’m a full believer that we are human and there is so much beauty in our humanity and we are completely holy at the same time. And to be able to embrace both sides of that coin is what makes us whole.”she added, “I get to use my voice in different ways to connect with people. I feel like what I’m here to do, you know, like the celebrity and the music and all of that is an added bonus to what we’re really here to do with each other, right? (We’re here) to connect and for that vulnerability to be what connects us,” she concluded. In the past, Rimes has recorded other songs related to her faith, like “O Holy Night” on The Nativity Story album; “Ten Thousand Angels Cried” which is about the crucifixion of Christ; and “I Need You” for Jesus: The Epic Mini-Series.ALSO READ Tyra Archie Talks On Why Gospel Music Is Not Popular In The USA
