“Leaders Must Apologize To Nigeria’s Wounded Communities” – Pastor Tunde Bakare
By Church News
The Serving Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to publicly apologize to communities across Nigeria that have suffered repeated attacks, displacement, and loss of lives due to insecurity.
Speaking during his State of the Nation Address in Lagos on Sunday, Pastor Bakare emphasized that such an apology would symbolize a genuine commitment to justice and national reconciliation.
He noted that while the government has taken initial steps to address insecurity, deeper action is required to restore public confidence and trust in leadership.
Bakare lamented decades of government failure to protect citizens from terrorism, banditry, and violent crimes, insisting that leaders must first accept responsibility before meaningful progress can be achieved.
