The Lagos State Police Command has cleared Pastor Paul Adefarasin, Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church, of any wrongdoing following a viral video that showed him holding what appeared to be a gun.

The investigation, concluded on September 17, 2025, determined that the object in question was a stun gun, a non-lethal self-defence device, and not a firearm as initially speculated.

Pastor Adefarasin appeared at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja for questioning, where he provided a cautionary statement.

The police confirmed that the object seen in the video was indeed a stun gun, which is a prohibited anti-riot equipment under Nigerian law.

Given the findings, the police determined that there were no sufficient grounds to proceed with the matter, and the case was discontinued.
