Former Ballon d’Or winner Kaká has publicly voiced support for Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus after the Brazilian forward’s faith-based goal celebration drew the attention of the Football Association (FA).

Jesus, who scored in Arsenal’s recent Premier League fixture, lifted his shirt to reveal the words “I belong to Jesus” emblazoned beneath.

The gesture, while celebrated by many fans as a bold declaration of faith, has reportedly prompted the FA to consider disciplinary action under rules governing religious and political expressions on the pitch.

Kaká, himself renowned for his Christian faith during his playing career, took to social media to defend Jesus. “We belong to Jesus,” he wrote, echoing the striker’s message and reminding fans of his own celebrations at AC Milan and Real Madrid.

The former Brazil international’s backing has reignited debate about the place of religious expression in football, with many recalling Kaká’s famous “I belong to Jesus” shirt worn during the 2002 World Cup and Champions League triumphs.
