In a significant move for the independent music label, Gotee Records has announced the appointment of Jess Loper as their new General Manager. Loper, who has been with the company for eight years, will now report to Joey Elwood, the CEO of Bell Partners Christian Music, which recently agreed with Gotee Records.

Jess Loper’s extensive experience in the music industry includes her previous role as Vice President of Brand Management at Gotee Records and Publishing at Emack Music. She has also handled A&R for artists such as Jon Reddick, Hollyn, Aaron Cole, Joseph O’Brien, Charly Beathard, and RENEE. Additionally, she has cultivated writer relationships for Emack writers and assisted with film and TV placements for major networks like ESPN, Fox Sports, ABC, NBC, and VH1.

Joey Elwood expressed his excitement about Loper’s new role, stating, “Jess is an example of incredible versatility, having touched every facet of our business. Her appointment as General Manager is a natural progression in her career, and we are thrilled to see her take on this leadership position.”

Loper began her career as an Editor with Business Wire, where she serviced the Associated Press with press releases for publicly held companies. She later transitioned into the music industry, working in the A&R department at Capitol CMG/Universal Music. There, she played a crucial role in the production process for artists like Amy Grant, Chris Tomlin, Kari Jobe, TobyMac, and Passion/sixstepsrecords.

In 2017, Loper joined Gotee Records, where she has since launched Without Labels Collective, a company focused on music supervision and licensing for film and television. This venture also aims to educate and support songwriters and artists on the business side of the creative process.

Jess Loper’s dedication to the music industry is evident in her involvement with the CMPA Board and the GMA Dove Awards. She is also a proud mother to Brody (16) and Kellen (13) and recently married her favourite songwriter, Brent Loper, in the spring of 2022.
