Kenyan musician, Janet Otieno, Benjamin Dube (South Africa), KS Bloom (Ivory Coast), Levixone (Uganda), and Moses Bliss (Nigeria) have been nominated as Best Gospel Artist for the inaugural Trace Awards set to place at the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda, on 21 October 2023.

The award ceremony will celebrate artistes from across Africa in the genres of  Afrobeats, dancehall, hip hop, mbalax, amapiano, zouk, kizomba, genge, coupé décalé, bongo flava, soukous, gospel, rap, rai, kompa, R&B and rumba.

Janet Otieno gained interest in music in the year 2010 when she started singing in the church. She later released her first song in the year 2013 “Napokea Kwako” which featured Tanzanian gospel singer Christina Shusho. The song gained her much attention and fame and in 2014, she was awarded for “Collaboration of the year for the song “Napokea Kwako” by Mwafaka Awards.

Benjamin Dube is a South African gospel recording artist who rose to fame in the early 80s. Over the years he has released several albums which have reached gold and platinum status in the South African music rankings. Dube is also a lead pastor of the High Praise Centre in Vosloorus, east of Johannesburg.

Souleymane Kader Junior Kévin Koné also known as KS Bloom is an Ivorian Gospel artist who made his debut in 2012 with the musical style of RAP ivory, also known as uninformed music by believers. His his purpose is to be redeemed by JESUS in order to create disciples of all countries via music and testimony.

Levixone is one of the most popular and celebrated recording Gospel artistes and songwriters in Uganda and Africa today. With a deep seated passion for music ever since his childhood. Levixone first broke into the music scene in 2010 and has gone on to release over 40 songs and two studio albums with the third on the way.

Moses Bliss Uyoh Enang, popularly known as Moses Bliss, is a Nigerian gospel singer, worship leader and songwriter. He is also the founder of “Spotlite Nation”, a Nigerian record label.
