Fulani Ex-Muslim Man’s Journey to Christianity
By Church News
A Fulani ex-Muslim man, Musa Bello Musa, has shared his journey to Christianity, sparking intense debate. Born and raised in a predominantly Muslim community in Kaduna State, Musa’s conversion was sparked by a comparison of the Bible and the Quran.
In an interview, Musa revealed that his research led him to question Islam, particularly Quran 46:9, where Prophet Muhammad states he is just a warner and doesn’t know what will happen to him or his followers. This verse, Musa said, made him suspicious of Islam.
Musa contrasted this with Jesus’ assurance in the Bible of a place prepared for his followers and his teachings on turning the other cheek. He criticized Islam for promoting violence and force, citing the punishment for leaving Islam as death.
Musa’s conversion led to persecution from his family, including his father, the chief of Fulani local government in Kaduna State, who reportedly beat his mother and sent her away.
Despite the challenges, Musa’s ministry has led over 2,000 Fulanis to Christianity. His story has sparked reactions, with some praising his courage.
