Food Bank of Northern Nevada Kicks Off ‘Thanks 4 Giving’ Food Drive
By Church News
The Food Bank of Northern Nevada has officially launched its annual ‘Thanks 4 Giving’ food drive, aiming to support families in need during the holiday season. This initiative, which has become a staple in the community, encourages residents to donate non-perishable food items to help ensure that no one goes hungry during this festive time of year.
The ‘Thanks 4 Giving’ food drive is a crucial part of the Food Bank’s efforts to combat food insecurity in the region. With the holiday season approaching, the demand for food assistance typically increases, making community support more important than ever.
The Food Bank is calling on individuals, businesses, and organizations to contribute generously to this cause.
“We are incredibly grateful for the community’s continued support,” said Nicole Lamboley, President and CEO of the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. “The ‘Thanks 4 Giving’ food drive is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come together and make a difference in the lives of our neighbors who are struggling with hunger.”
Donations can be dropped off at various collection points throughout the region, including participating grocery stores, community centers, and the Food Bank’s main facility. The organization is particularly in need of items such as canned vegetables, soups, pasta, rice, and other non-perishable goods.
In addition to food donations, the Food Bank is also accepting monetary contributions, which will be used to purchase fresh produce and other essential items. Every dollar donated helps provide three meals to those in need, making financial contributions a highly effective way to support the cause.
The ‘Thanks 4 Giving’ food drive will run through the end of November, culminating in a special distribution event where collected items will be distributed to families in need. Volunteers are also being sought to assist with sorting and distributing donations, ensuring that the food reaches those who need it most.
As the community rallies together for the ‘Thanks 4 Giving’ food drive, the Food Bank of Northern Nevada remains committed to its mission of ending hunger and providing hope to those in need. This annual event serves as a powerful reminder of the impact that collective generosity can have, especially during the holiday season.
