By Church News

Zimbabwe-born musicians Everton Mlalazi from Harare and Canaan Nyathi from Matabeleland North have been nominated for this year’s 16th annual Crown Gospel Awards at the FNB stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa.

In a statement before the Gospel Awards SA public relations officer Glodine Makapela said Mlalazi was nominated for the Best of Africa Gospel award and will compete with six other nominees from Botswana and Nigeria while Nyathi is nominated for Best Gospel Album.

“The awards promise to be a star-studded event of media personalities from across Africa, gospel musicians, music producers and executives walking on the gold carpet. The Crowns Awards are not only a night of spectacular performances and awards, but also a showcase of fashion, style and couture designs. The gold carpet will be graced by the crème de la crème of African fashionistas, influencers, gospel artists and public figures,” reads the statement.

“This will be a night to remember, with an atmosphere of glitz and glamour. You’ll be able to spot the latest trends, discover new designers and experience the creativity of the African fashion scene. This will be a night where fashion meets music, and anything goes. Get ready to be wowed! It’s almost showtime! With just two days to go before the biggest night in gospel music, the Crowns stage is set and ready to go.”
