Elizabeth Okogwu has been honoured as one of the BAFTA’s Presenter of the Year, a title that celebrates excellence in onscreen presence and impact across the British entertainment industry.
The award was announced at the star-studded BAFTA ceremony in London, where Okogwu’s delivery and insightful reporting were hailed as redefining modern television presentation.
Elizabeth told the media how her parent’s prayers over her helped calm her nerves on audition day, saying: “As a Christian God is part of my life a lot and my Mum and my Dad pray for me quite a lot…so that day that they prayed for me, I felt so much better about going there.”
Okogwu, who has become a household name through her work on current affairs and cultural programming, was praised by the BAFTA jury for her “unparalleled command of storytelling, her deep empathy, and her ability to connect with audiences of all backgrounds.”
