By Marie
Renowned gospel artist Dunsin Oyekan recently unveiled his latest song, an enchanting piece titled “OGO,” which translates to “Glory” in Yoruba. The anticipation for this release was palpable, and Oyekan’s decision to release the song on August 1st was guided by a divine inspiration that has resonated deeply with his fans.
In an exciting twist of fate, the song’s release date took an unexpected turn. Oyekan shares on his Twitter handle, “To think we didn’t plan to release this sound today. I woke up this morning and the Lord said, Release #OGO today! (1st August, 2023). I said Yesssirrr!!! This is special…” The impromptu release has only added to the song’s impact.
“OGO” is more than just a song but spiritual ryhthm encapsulated in melodies and lyrics. Oyekan reveals that the inspiration for the song came during a time of heightened spiritual moment. The song’s ethereal quality is further enriched by the collaboration with fellow gospel artist Theophilus Sunday.
Oyekan explains, “A while back, the Lord told me to quickly document some of my encounters with Him in sounds. One of the sounds was to feature Theophilus Sunday and another Nathaniel Bassey. As we were about to start recording, I felt a portal open and there was a very strong alignment in the spirit, I began to spontaneously hear another song. The Lord was singing over us and the Upper room gang and I began to sing back to Him. It turned to a moment we had to document right there, I beckoned to Theophilus to join us on stage and declare it over the nations! (He had to feature on 2 songs).” This collaborative effort adds layers of depth and significance to the song, capturing a divine moment shared among artists and listeners alike.
“OGO” is an invitation to experience a sacred connection with God. The song has generated more than 400,000 views on YouTube within just six days of its release. It is evident that the song’s message of glory and spiritual alignment has struck a powerful chord with audiences worldwide.
