Sean Simmons, the son of iconic rapper DMX (born Earl Simmons) was baptized alongside his cousin recently.

The baptism, held in a private gathering of close friends and family represents a new chapter for Sean, who steps into a spiritual journey that mirrors the powerful religious convictions his father was known for.

DMX, who passed away in April 2021, was celebrated not only for his raw lyrical talent but also for his public expressions of faith, often incorporating prayer and spiritual reflection into his music and performances.

“This is something Earl would’ve been proud of,” said a close family friend who attended the ceremony. “He always believed in second chances and the power of God to change lives. Seeing his son take this step it’s like watching his spirit live on.”

Sean Simmons himself spoke briefly after the baptism, saying, “I’ve been through a lot, and I know my father went through even more. But he always told me to keep God first. Today, I’m doing that not just for me, but for him.”
