Regarding the album, Dennis Quaid explained that it tells his life story and that the title references sinners because he “wanted the largest possible audience, starting with myself.”“That’s the thing about being a Christian,” he said. “Jesus is there, and you really have a personal relationship with him, which took me a long time to actually figure out.” With Jesus, our sins are erased, and “it’s like a clean slate that you start from that moment.”“That doesn’t mean life is perfect,” Quaid continued. “I think that’s what Christianity has got going for it compared to the other great religions of the world is that it’s a personal relationship with God.”“Exactly right,” Laurie agreed.Laurie said that he assumed that there are likely other professing Christians in Hollywood who are less vocal than he is, and he asked Quad why they are not as “bold” as he is, Church Leaders reported.“I, like everybody else, have felt some sort of embarrassment” or concern about offending others,” he shared, adding that he ultimately chose, “I am who I am and…Jesus told us to go out and spread this out, you know. It’s called ‘the good news.’”He encouraged fellow believers to “step up and speak out…that’s what we’re here to do. It’s called fellowship. That’s why we’re all here.”“There’s…some great fellowship in here, that’s for sure, from back to front,” he said.In addition to his testimony, Quaid performed two songs from his latest album. The first song, “On My Way to Heaven,” was written for his mother to let her know he was okay after he left rehab.“My mom was always the rock of my life,” he said, noting that his mother passed away about three years ago. The song was also featured on the soundtrack for “I Can Only Imagine,” a “story about a son who writes a song for a father.”Quaid closed his appearance by playing the song “Fallen.”“God bless each and every one of you.
