NFL Hall of Famer and college football coach Deion Sanders has revealed his ongoing battle with bladder cancer, sharing his journey publicly in an interview with CBN News.
Sanders, also known as “Coach Prime,” spoke openly about the diagnosis, the physical toll, and the mental resilience required to face the disease. Known for his charisma and competitive spirit both on and off the field, Sanders said the experience has been “humbling” and “life-altering.”
“It’s been tough, man,” Deion Sanders admitted. “You think you’re invincible until something like this hits. But I’m fighting, and I’m trusting God through it all.”
The former NFL star, who now serves as head coach for the University of Colorado football team, shared that the diagnosis came after months of discomfort and medical testing. He appreciated his medical team and family for their unwavering support, and emphasized the importance of early detection and regular health checkups especially for men who often ignore warning signs.
