‘Defender of the Faith’ Unveiled in Warri

By Marie

The first authorised biography of the Founder and General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Folorunsho Kumuyi, Defender of the Faith was unveiled in Warri, Delta state recently. The Delta South Overseer of DCLM, Pastor Pious Idume, said the book was timely given the rising iniquities in the society, which, he said, were signs of the last days.
He said, “This book is to re-awaken the church, revive the church and also revive evangelism. It is also to call us back to righteousness because the nation has shifted from righteousness to unrighteousness.
“And, again a lot of people have forgotten about God and living as if there is no God. This book will bring us back to our creator because once you miss God, you miss all. The position we are in now as a nation, we need help and this book will provide the help we need,” Idume added. The title of the biography not only encapsulates the life and work of the Deeper Life Bible Church general superintendent, but it also speaks to the meaning of his first name William; being a “resolute protector” or “strong-willed warrior”.So, it is not surprising that Kumuyi as a preacher has devoted the last 50 years, if not more, of his life and ministry as a resolute protector of the Gospel. He not only protects the Gospel; he has remained a strong-willed warrior of the faith being a strong advocate of righteousness in the body of Christ and the Church at large. Before this literary journey by four notable writers who co-authored the publication, there has been no full-length book on the life and works of the general superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church. The Foreword to the book Defender of the Faith was written by Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.ALSO READ The Eightieth Dimension – A New Book to Mark Pastor Kumuyi’s 80th year
